I wonder what would be the reason to downgrade from the 433M to the 343M for $0 in return? Is there some advantage to the 343M? I realize the fronts are a half inch narrower, but that should provide no benefit (nor determent) given that the tires are the same size. And the style of the wheels themselves are very similar.

The fact that so many people comment this car is overpriced will just make it that much more desirable to those who buy these cars as they become that much more exclusive. This is the ultimate M (ok maybe the M6 Vert is a tie).

M6 and M6 GC has much more presence, elegance, looks luxury, etc. 6 series itself is basically the coupe version of 7 series, as 640i and 650i are same price as 740i and 750i siblings. saying why M6 GC cost more than M5 even though they have same engine, same leather, same brakes is almost like saying why does 528i cost 50k when 128i only costs 31k (I guess with leather, it would be closer to 33k) with the same engine. ///M5 is freaking awesome though |

I don't think M6 GC or M6 for that matter is overpriced at all.
335i coupe is about 45k and M3 coupe is 60k, jump of about 15k. 550i is 63k and M5 is 90k, jump of about 30k 650i is 85k and if we're following the "trend," it should be 40-50k more than 650i, at 125-135k. BUT, M6 is only about 30k more expensive than 650i. Also, BMW does not have 8 series (would be "true" competitor to CL550 which starts at 115k with CL63 costing 35k more at 150k) so 6 series really competes in the same market with CL (as well as SL), so it makes sense for BMW to price it accordingly. I can't even afford these cars so I'm not biased or anything. People looking for a sexy executive coupe/gran coupe will either pay base price of $115 for CL550 or $120 for M6 or some other brands of course such as Maserati GT, maybe Aston Martin, etc. |

The price is tool to the keep the car exclusive. Most folks who buy expensive cars (usually over 100k or 150K) want to have something exclusive and rare to make a statement and they could care less about performance or capability.
This car says you are special and you have exclusive car that compensates for unusually small dick..

Guys, if you don't opt for the ceramic brakes (many do not recommend based on the reports from the M Performance school) and you don't go for the Night Vision unless you are a Navy Seal than the car is a slightly more reasonable 131k- which by the way is still
20-30 less than the Panny. Not bad. Is it worth more than the M5? Yes, that interior with Individual is dead sexy and is arguably IMO one of the highest quality car interiors sold today. But that's just my 2 pennies....... |

Agree. There is no reason for the M6 GS to be so mouch more expensive than a similar RS7 and CLS63. A small premium over the M5, understanable, but $20k? That's all profit as there should not cost BMW any more to make a M6GC tham a M5.
I hope no one buys this thing so they learn to be be more realistic |

It's always interesting to me when people debate what things (in this case a car) are "worth". Every one of us on this forum drives a car that someone else believes is "over priced" and "not worth it".
Only the people that can truly afford an M6 Gran Coupe can debate whether or not it's "worth it". For people like me, it doesn't matter if it's $100 or $200 or $300K. I cant buy that! But I sure love it and appreciate it and aspire to own one. I couldn't always afford the 328i that now sits in my garage... now I can and yes, it's worth it! It's all relative. |

I couldn't agree more. I have a 128i conv and depending on where I am/who I talk to, but quite often I get such jealousy comments. They go out of their way to let me know something along the lines of my car is unnecessary luxury (Yes, I am young(er) than an average BMW owner) A poster above joked that a guy who drives these cars (M6) are guys with unusually small penis trying to prove something with money (forget exactly what he/she said) I wonder what size penis, these folks hating over what I personally consider a properly priced car just because they can't afford it, is Arguing M5 price vs M6 can't be more comical. That's literally comparing E63 to SL550 or CL550, $ wise and also class/style/elegance wise Ps. I love the M5 And I have a 128i conv and 528i, but can't afford a M6; I'm not biased. I'm happy for higher budget BMW fans wanting real sexy coupe and exclusivity that dont want to go to Benz or Maserati |

LoL. This car has nothing over the m5. Less attractive styling for the exact same features as the m5. Question mark. The gran coupe adds nothing to the bmw line up. Just a cash grab.

Regarding the price, do keep in mind that neither Mercedes nor Audi have corresponding two door offerings to bracket their four door coupes in this segment like BMW does. I'm sure both of them would love to have the sales to support a more consistent lineup. Audi has nothing above the A/S/RS5 while Mercedes' coupe lineup is still somewhat confused due to the CLK legacy that today's E Class coupe/conv still carry around. It leaves a huge gap between the E coupe and CL coupe, and too small a gap between the E coupe and new C coupe.

It appears that the point of my post did not make it across as intended. Let me simplify: there is no CLS coupe-proper in Mercedes lineup to prop up the price of the CLS sedan (four door coupe).

Now I understand what you were saying. There really doesn't need to be a coupe variant to compare the cars. Both the CLS and 6GC are similar price, size and have a special top tier model. Both cars could technically be put up against each other in a comparison.
