6 vert meets 6CG
My X5 was booked in with the dealer; I requested something a bit special as a loan car as we were travelling to a wedding. My dealer obliged and offered the 6CG for the weekend! The car was well specced and for those who are thinking of placing a new order I would recommend adding Nappa leather with the leather Instrument panel and contrast stitching. It looks amazing! The 6CG was the SE model; mineral white exterior really suits the styling of the car. I personally prefer the slightly aggressive styling of the M Sport. I was very surprised how different the car felt compared to my vert, it felt a lot heavier and not as sharp. Although it shares the same engine it also sounded very different and it did not feel as quick. Although on paper performance is identical! The 6CG is a beautiful car, but I still prefer my 6 vert. that feels very special every time I get into the car. I have attached some photos, apologies for the quality they were taken on my iPhone with the light fading.

Very cool photos. I really hope I get to drive a 650i GC at the PC when I go in February. I have high, high hopes for this car's performance as the hit it out of the park in the looks department. Sounds like you have a very nice dealership to loan you one of these beasts - that's definitely not a stripped 328i loaner

Man, that's cool to have both cars there at the same time. It's nice that you got to drive them both and notice the differences. It had been two months between driving the two door, ordered the GC and then taking delivery in Munich.

Would you mind letting me know your 'real-world' mpg, whether or not your car has Adaptive Drive and, if not, how do you find the ride on those 20"wheels? Many thanks, Jon |

No adaptive drive, but I find the ride very good. Can it be better....yes, however I don't believe the ride is compromised because of the 20" wheels. I had a loan car with 19" wheels which felt exactly the same. Now the 6GC had a slightly different set up, no adaptive drive but it had a comfort mode within the drive performance control, which certainly made a difference especially when driving around town it was softer which meant it absorbed pot holes and speed humps better. However in sport mode i still prefer the set up of my vert, it feels more connected which surprised me....I had the 6GC for a weekend and clocked up 500+ miles mainly driving very enthusiastically and still managed 35mpg I hope this helps.
