Loos too subtle for an M6 IMHO.

Read the first post, it's definitely an M6. It's got all the classic M parts - M brakes, cross drilled rotors, quad exhaust.

This is no M sport.

Saw the first post, read it, saw the cross drilled rotors, quad exhaust, etc. It's an M6 alright but I still think that M6 looks very subtle.

I know that the vehicle shown may not be the finalized product (It's still riding a lil high. Needs a drop), but I still need to see the front end to be convinced it's the new M6.

Not a single non-M car has quad exhaust. This is an M6 without even seeing the front end.

No questions asked, it's an M6. Seeing the quad exhaust and all.

BUT I need to see the front end coz that M6 just looks too subtle from the rear IMHO.

For example, X1s have been at BMWNA engineering for years at this point. They are usually clad with some camo though. Maybe the factory forgot the camo for engineering? The car looks mean and it sounds the part- I had one next to me the other day here in Germany and it is loud. Insiders have also pointed that the M6 will be more differentiated than the M5 this go around, but what that means is still to be determined.

I hope they are not launching the M6 cabrio in the same color as the M5, I'd like to see it in a new red; but that's me.

Sorry you misunderstood , I was meaning the car and color and not that specific car which is more than likely an engineering vehicle.

But the NAIAS 3ers - 328i , 335i and Active Hybrid were shipped in via boat.

That makes sense as they have already made their world debuts... In the past cars making their world debuts were always flown in and then privately trucked. The others I never really pay attention to...

I was really hoping for something other than MC blue..

The 6 can't meet CAFE requirements with the added weight of the folding hardtop. Until they manage to reduce the overall weight, it'll remain a softtop car. It really wouldn't surprise me if the next three convertible goes back to a softtop if it means fuel efficiency goes up.

Where did that come from? It is so they can offer the "Flying Buttress", allows the rear window to be used in the up position to reduce wind in cabin. One car's CAFE number means nothing- Why would there be a 760Li then? That is the heaviest car in the fleet with the largest engine.

A hard top convertible can be made lighter than a soft top these days- the Z4 is proof of that. The next gen 3 will continue on as a hard top.

I love what people come up with as answers sometimes...

+1

It's worlds apart from the old 6 which looked really heavy but this looks more sleek. Paint really does make a big different too. I love these kind of blues.

that red sticker states that the vehicle is equipped with shipping spacers, so thats why it is so high up in the front. this looks more like a lot ready car to me. in transport mode

Hey all, hope all's well.

I took the shots and saw the car in the flesh. Very confident that color isn't MC.

It looks like Avus/Le Mans/Interlagos.

Yeah, I've been thinking that all day. That's definitely not MCB.

That was info direct from a BMW engineer, not something I just made up. Take your high horse attitude elsewhere instead of being an ass.
