He should have used Toyota MR2 instead in stead of Mercury Cougar.

It's a replica, and I know a lot of people are going to trash him for it, but I have to give the guy massive respect for his skill, and attention to detail. I had to look really closely (lights, proportions) to tell the difference.

He should definitely try to design his own car with a better platform, and engine as his base.

that's a really good question and something I'd like to know. where's the line for rights on the 'build' of the car? i'm guessing him not using the B symbol is what would save him

Personally that's what I find to be more of the problem. Do it on an old lambo, ferrari or something like that. Find something with a trashed body but a good engine. I could definitely see the desire there and even the price tag.

Right, maybe build a replica Lamborghini with a C6 Z06 chasis or something. Although I still wouldn't buy a replica, that would be much better.

His attention to detail is worthless unless he starts a body shop, or gets an engineering degree and goes to work for a car company R&D

He wont make money making fake supercars

Did you guys see the pic I posted, of the grille? You can see the layers, and the curves don't even line up. He did great with the overall shape, but I think the attention to detail is just so so.

I was about to say the same thing. I would also bet when you get up close it completely obvious this car was just thrown together. The surfaces are probably not smooth at all. As I person who has restored old cars I know the kind of works that goes into making surfaces look good and unless this was this kids full time job, I know what 9 months works looks like up close.

I am going to go out on a limb and say you're not an iphone 4 user. I would bet that is what this picture was taken with.

I'm sure who ever buys this will be the coolest guy in the trailer park.
When you merge multiple photographs to get a good picture (iPhone 4 has an HDR feature that does this) it sometimes give you overlapping lines. I have pictures I took that look like this but just because of that feature.

If you look a little you can see that this is the case here. Look at the black part of the bumper on the left of the pic, it is ghosted, hence showing the overlapping pictures.

Look at the pic on ebay where the hood is up. You can see the overlapping parts of the grille.

Thats ghosting from an HDR effect. You can see it by looking at the sidewalk lines too... they're doubled. It's just a shitty photo. His detail is pretty good but SERIOUSLY?!? 89k?! WTF
