I’m with you. Never been an EV person, but I did get such a stupid deal on an etron GT so I’ve been cruising around in that enough to know I’d lease the hell out of an electric m car to go-kart around town.

Actually it's called develop time. These cars have been in the work since 2017 with the EV m2.

It's a matter of having a full range of options for customers. They already said they will sell what market and emissions rules demand.

Hard-core fans won't likely buy this but it will sell for EV folks and the tech will trickle down across the EV lineup and the lesson learned to the ICE cars.

I dropped off my jeep for tires at dealer and got a ride back, I live about 10 miles from dealer.

Just from dealer to house while battery was at 100% when started the trip it was at 82 percent once dropped off. The driver had defroster, heat and radio going. Seriously hate EV’s glad I bought my 25 g80 now and will plan on keeping it as long as I can.

Of course it does, they're giving them away. G80 is a niche enthusiast car, i4 is a commuter car with thousands of dollars on the hood to move them off lots.

You can get them literally dirt cheap down here (which is where the article you link came from) because they cannot sell them without deep discounts.

The XM is an embarrassment. It upsets me that they put it in the same category as some of those truly brilliant M cars.

I fully expect the electric M3 to be objectively good. But do M car buyers really want it ? I think not. Feels like another C63 moment coming ….
