650i GC or...
I've been eyeing a 2017 M3 for a while now...but recently I rode in a 650i GC and am really loving the style, and the blend of luxury and performance.
I'm thinking that picking up a 2017 650i GC X-drive and modifying it with some fun engine and suspension bolt-ons would be a lot of fun, and maybe get me close to the performance level of the M3. What do you think? Who here has some awesome modified GC rides? |

Bootmod 3 will put you above M3 performance (AWD) maybe get some stiffer springs etc, but the GC is such a fun car to drive, it feels planted, sturdy, and heavy but the torque and power is mesmerizing..
My car is bone stock and it feels amazing, can't imagine what it will feel like with some mods |

How’s m6gc handling compared to m3? I imagine better than regular 650gc but still feels heavy? I did test drive a 640 gc before going with the 650 and did feel lighter, but needed that v8!
I think it depends on your goals, both are fast... but if you want v8 sound and power or m3 handling... also depends on how often you’d use your other seats. I like that I can fit four adults comfortably, but am realizing I don’t do so often enough and am missing flickability a little... I also love the gc styling. So for me the decision would be between m4 gc vs 6gc. Then again the finish and interior luxury on the 6gc is just so awesome... I will never get over the leather wrapped from Center console to dash... Last edited by pdubq; 02-27-2020 at 09:47 PM.. |

I love the 6GC but it's far from an M3... in nearly every way other than they're both BMWs.
The M3 is the car you buy when you want a tossable, fun, small sedan and you're not as concerned about the high end luxury or grand touring comfort. The 6GC is the car you buy when you want a beautiful, large, grand touring car with tons of style and luxury, but you're not as concerned about it being tossable, fun, or certainly small. Having owned a few 3 series in the past, they're a lot of fun - especially putting a lowering kit with firm coilovers... it can get very go-kart like. The 6, even in its sportiest "mode" (with stiffer suspension setting), is far from tossable or fun to me. Yes, it has lots of V8 grunt, but it feels like a bull in a china shop. It's a brute but not a scalpel. On the flip side, a 3 series will feel like an utter down-market car compared to a well-equipped 6 series. The 6 is really luxurious with tons of soft nappa leather, beautiful swooping curves both inside and out, and lots of tech (if you get it optioned well). It's designed to get you quickly from point A to B in loads of luxury and comfort... with a sporting edge. So, you really need to decide what you're looking for in a car. A 6 and 3 are just very different.
