For me surround view is essential for not dinking my 20 inch wheels on the kerb in stupid I'll shopping centre car parks.
Depending on the model you'll get head up display as standard, but if not put it on your shopping list. I hardly ever look at the dash anymore. Lumbar adjustment in the seats is also handy if you suffer from a bad back, I've found standard bmw seats lacking in the support of the lower back, but that just could be the years of wear I've put on my spine. My other essential is adaptive cruise control, although this is a rare option on UK cars (or at least rare on the knees listed for resale). High beam assist is only about 70% accurate, not something that I tend to turn on. I've got adaptive headlights, can't say I notice it, but friends who've got it and then changed cars without it have commented on just how useful it is. I've also got LED headlights, which unfortunately don't support Selective Beam for this you have to get an LCI facelift. NBT EVO on the idrive is worth looking for so you can upgrade to idrive 5 interface. You can find the version by putting idrive on nav, push to the right to bring up options and then scroll down to additional information. |

Personally i would opt for
Sunroof - transforms the car inside and out - quite common Comfort seats as the original ones look cheap - worth seeking out surround view Sun protection - very common 20" Alloys - very common Rear seats heating / climate if you can find it - very rare in 640d Heated steering wheel - as above Head up - wouldn't bother as no m view on non m cars Adaptive drive also quite rare Finally a car that doesn't have cheap looking ali trim Ceramic controls Digital dash i think became standard on later cars too Hi beam i have it, never used it Oh and Harman Karden that was rare on 13/14 cars i think std on 15 cars onwards You will also find that later 15 cars have a better suspension set up and drive far better than earlier ones. Also another anal one, 15 plated cars have a larger bore exhaust and looks much nicer than 13/14 cars, also sounds better. Those options are all out there, just need seeking out, plenty of choice so id be picky if i were you. |

For me:
Sunroof Comfort seats M Sport Pack - HUD, 20's and HK (which is not standard). Regarding some later LCI cars most come with just LED headlights not adaptive, I love the adaptive, but like others have said it depends where you drive. Mine are brilliant as I do a lot of driving on A roads. But, hope they never have issues as just the headlight is £3k. Note mine is an LCI so does full on Selective Beam, I have not really had issues with it dealing with traffic minus some that get "angry" despite being miles off. |
