Lowering
I'm deciding to lower my ride.
I found some springs and I'm currently speaking to the seller about how many inches it lowers the car. He says it lowers the front 1.2" and the rear 0.4". Since you guys are more experienced with lowering, I'm looking for some insight before purchasing. Am I wasting my time purchasing it? Because to me 0.4" on the rear doesn't seem like much of a difference being that the rear is so tall compared to the front's ride rake. |

You will need coilovers for that, or Megan Racing springs, which i would not recommend for this car. I don't know why you don't want to keep the raked look, having the car completely flat front to back seems like it takes away form the design of the car.

Every car I've seen on this forum have been flat all around. I kind of like that look over the raked look.

It seems like the Xdrive models especially the GC has been tricky to lower with just springs. I was even considering lowering my 650 coupe on H&R springs but wasn't sure if I was going to get the drop I wanted.
Springs may be best for non Xdrive 6's as you probably won't get much of a difference. I would agree on coilovers...only problem is that they're expensive but the upside is you can get the exact drop you want with adjusting them. I may consider H&R springs as one of the next things to do but the concern I have is that it will wear out my factory shocks much quicker then factory M sport springs and I'll have a bouncey car like those you see on the highway that cut their springs lol. |

That would be completely incorrect, just bad photo angles throwing you off. Almost all of the springs sold for the 6 lower the front down more than the rear and stock the car sits lower in the front than the rear. Only Megan Racing lowers something like 1.5 f 1.5r and the car looks horrible on those springs IMO. Here's an example of the MEC springs and how the car sits on a side angle shot.

I think a 1.5" all around drop wouldn't look horrible, 1.5" isn't that much of a drop. I think 2"+ is where it would be really low especially with 21"+ wheels. I think a 1.5" all around drop with 20" wheels would look great IMO. |

I don't think 0.4" is worth a lower though. |

With lowering spring, you may not get an exact 1" and even if you do, after a month or two when the spring is settled, it will go off that 1". Now the next question, who made coilover for AWD 6'er.

So basically I would just have to suck it up and deal with going lower than 1"? |
