Progress updates of my M6 GC being wrapped
Hi Guys,
I know this may not be to evryones taste but i decided to have my silverstone II wrapped in matte aluminum blue. I love silverstone II so wanted to stay close to the original colour (wrap is darker) but wanted to see the lines of the car better and provide some protection. Here's a couple of pics as the car was started today and I'll post update pics as I get them from the detailer. 3rd pic in is a sample of the wrap that my son pealed away from the backing hence the bubbles!! (hoping they wont be on the car!!) cheers Parm |

I guess it's like a silver with a blueish hue the OP is going for here.

I am also thinking of wrapping - loving my SSII but want to go frozen silver or frozen grey. Will have to see what the options are come summer. Can't wait to see yours.

OP, if you don't mind me asking, how much does this kind of job usually go for?

Quick update, car will be ready Thursday pm and Paul at PW Pro has sent over a couple of pics.
First one is the door coming off for the wrap (insane attension to detail) where you can make out the sill has been wrapped and the second is a test wrap on the rear bumper where you can make out the difference in coulour between siverstone II and the wrap colour |

other than being able to pull it off when you're bored with it why wrap and not paint the car? It doesn't last that long does it? Rock marks, tears, wear etc? Plus doesn't have the shine paint does?

I've double wrapped the bonnet and wings for thickness, I've had a similar wrap on my 911turbo and after thrashing that around the film still looked pretty good (12months). I just had the film replaced on the worn bits. Not to fussed about the shine as the wrap is matt. Honestly this guys work is so good you have to try pretty hard to work out its a wrap.

The main advantage with a wrap is just that you can take it off and that it also protects the paint. Kind of like killing two birds with one stone.
