I think it's the photo playing the trick, Interlago Blue should be a bit brighter and I'm guessing because the M3 was not clean enough.

I think I saw San Marino on an M6 convert when I was at the Welt last month.

Whatever it was, it looked like that and it was stunning in real life.

I'm really liking the new blues that BMW is coming out with......

Damn. A San Marino/Ivory/Piano M3 might be just what the doctor ordered.

Too many options. Too little garage space.

I like the San Marino. I also think BMW needs to bring back the sparkling graphite.

all these color thread pics are taken in overcast lighting, which makes the colors resemble each other more than they would.

Let's see some with bright sunshine!

I loved the photos of the M6 in San Marino Blue, but when I saw one up close, it looked way too purple for my liking.

My favorite M blue is still the Monte Carlo Blue, currently available on X6M, X5M, and M5. I really hope they keep this color, it looks perfect to me.

Last edited by ddk632; 07-26-2012 at 09:36 PM.. Reason: Changed San Merino to San Marino, because leather exterior is not available on BMW's

The M3 had just been washed and wiped down.

The close-up pics show how clean it was. I was surprised how bright the MB was compared to IB at different angles.

I've shot interlagos plenty of times, in different lighting conditions and different seasons. It's a bit darker with more purple to it. The pics you posted don't even substantiate your claim, there's no sheen or "pop" in any of your pics. It literally looks like I boosted the blue saturation in the san marino pic but that's straight out of cam and how it looks in real life.

First, let me say I don't think it's a giant clash of colors, but I've read many a post that reject the red int and blue exts here and on other sites.

I've seen San Marino in person. I found it to be very purple under bright light. It's nice, but not for me.

I wanted to see what people thought of this color with ORANGE interior and response referenced RED interior so I reiterated my question regrading blue exterior and ORANGE interior.Anybody?

Okay. If you asked 100 people what color it was w/o telling them what BMW named it, 90 would say bright red. I should have mentioned that initially.

But back to my point. I think you'd be fine with the color and that's all that matters, but you'll read criticism of the combo. Just sharing an observation after reading as much on these sites for a long time. Again, your car, your call and I personally pay little attention to the thoughts of others on something so personal and subjective as color unless you're already assessing resale issues.

I have given that interior some thought, but will probably opt for an "individual" color as none of the standard interiors look all that great to me with the exteriors I'm considering. Spending that much money means a few extra grand for a classier interior and accent stitching that comes with it isn't a bad idea IMHO.
