New Battery, Dash Full of light, then Off?

I had a message that stated battery discharge. I drove the car for a few miles and decided to buy a new OEM battery. I didn't immediately change the battery and the car sat for one day without starting or driving the car. When I started the car, I had numerous lights on the dash appear. The abs, the brake light, the air bag light, the steering light, check engine light, and traction control light were all on. I replaced the battery and registered it with the car. When I turned the car on, all the dash lights were still on. I decided to try and take it for a drive and when I put the car in drive, the car turned off. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong? Or any solutions? Thank you in advance!

Have you checked for any DTC's? That would be helpful to know what codes are set.

Date code on the battery and was it fully charged when it was installed. There is a natural loss on batteries when they sit for a long time.

Excellent, good to see they didn't try to sell on that was older. It may be under charged. Do you know if it went on a trickle charger before going in the car?

Have you been driving the car? This should help charge the battery if you do not have a charger. Also, have you cleared the codes? Typically after 3 drive cycles without a fault the CEL would clear itself. Now that you have captured your codes you can clear them after getting the battery voltage/charge up to spec and they go on a test drive to see if they reoccur. If they comeback I would suggest rechecking your ground connection and verify they battery type that was programmed.
