Im finding more clutch options for the DCT (Getrag trans).

There is an option from Rein on ECS and FCP’s sites. Also ebay has options, and this site has one from Getrag. Any info on these?

I have a list with some links, feel free to comment, some of these I haven’t seen on sale till recently.

1. Getrag -$2,216.36

https://www.rmeuropean.com/Products/...41-MFG184.aspx

2. Rein- fcp euro - $2339.99
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...in-28407842841

3. Project Gamma upgrade disks advertised at 950lb max torque, 1 yr warranty
On presale, so completely new product.
- $997.00

https://shopprojectgamma.com/product...ormance-clutch

4. Scmiedmann - 1,100 EURO

https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/produ...ct=28407842841

5. URO Tuning - $2,578.08

https://www.urotuning.com/products/b...65-28407842841

I have heard of Rein and URO tuning from parts on previous BMW’s. Good companies. Not sure about clutches though. Getrag makes the trans, just havent seen clutches sold from them. Also the project gamma upgrade disks are an upgrade option. Would like to learn more about them. Its a new option other than the others from SSP, Deka, Dodson, etc…

Any opinions on the stock clutches above with prices or with the new project gamma upgrade disks?

I recently bought the Deka Stage 2 from Turner Motorsport. Turner offers a lifetime warranty on these clutches in a similar fashion that FCP does on parts. I went with the Stage 2 setup based on what I have read or watched on YT. It seems the stage 3 was solid but also takes away some of the daily driver comfort. Since I take my car on long road trips I decided to go for a blend of comfort and higher torque rating. Evolve Automotive has a good video on YT about Deka. They used to carry SSP and not sure what happened there but suspect they needed something to would hold power better.

ATA is another company based in Australia. The folks at Seems Legit Garage carry them.

Project Gama has been around in the aftermarket stuff for a while but I am surprised to see them offer clutches and very shocked to see clutches at that price point.

I agree about project gamma. That is a good price point. I think the Deka is the best option. Its an upgrade with warranty. I use Fcp for some parts and oils.

With your Deka, do you use ISTA? I did my transfluid before with the pentosin fluid. It works well. Before I had one down shift error under load and backed off. The fluid was slightly blackened with less than 40K on it. After fluid change and software update, I’ve had no issues. I did the adaptation process etc…

I might go for an upgrade later. I am slightly afraid with SSP do to errors and such. I saw the video with the M4 from evolve.

I am interested in project gamma, they have good parts. I haven’t seen much for clutches from them. So wanna see how the product performs. Haven’t heard about ATA, but I am seeing new options, which is good.
The other clutches were stock, however FCP and ECS / Turner are offering the warranties, which is awesome. So you went with the best option at present. Any other thought on the Deka stage II? That might be what I go with later.

Do you use an OEM basket? As in do you send them the OEM clutch and they put the disks in?

Have the prices gone up alot? Im seeing a much higher price now. The project gamma clutches are $2K and Deka stage 2 is up on cost.

I am glad you chimed in. My car is currently back at my indy shop and we believe the clutch has failed. I don't daily my car and I certainly do not run it hard. I might have had about 4k miles on the clutches when I lost the even gears and started having shifting issues. I don't have any updates yet as my indy just reached out to deka on Friday.

Prior to the clutches failing the shifting seemed fine for daily driving. As soon as I hear more back I'll update yall.

Not that PG has been out there for very long but I have not heard anything negative from folks that got them.

Yeah to say it has been a rollercoaster ride would be so accurate in many ways. It is a fun ride when it is rolling but man when the ride fails, lol!

I knew shopping for clutches was going to be a pain in the drivetrain but didn't think it would happen so soon. If I drove like a mad man everywhere it would have been easier to accept.

I hope this messages finds you all well. I am reaching out to see if any of you have contact with the folks at Deka Clutches. I bought a set of stage 2 clutches a few months ago and had them installed by my trusted and competent indy bmw/euro shop here in Florida.

Unfortunately the clutches failed in a manner that was very perplexing to us, basically they warped and prevented the transmission from shifting properly. It seemed that the even gears struggled to shift.

My indy shop removed the clutches, reinstalled my oem clutches all at my expense and no discounts as it doesn't appear to be an install and breakin issue on their part. The shop reached out to deka to seek information but was getting slow responses. I have my car back now and trying to reach them and getting no responses.

I have reached out via phone and text to no avail. I am hoping someone in the group has a relationship with Deka Clutches and can get them to DM me with contact and shipping information on the clutches. Thank you in advance.

Despite not buying this part through my indy/performance euro car shop, they stepped in and contacted Deka for. I'll grab some pictures best I can and get these things shipped asap.

I suggest posting some images. I can try reaching out to them also. My guess is that they are behind on checking their contact messages.

I looked and saw this company on facebook. They are in Miami Beach, FL. They have a direct link for Deka Sales on the about section. Maybe they can help get in contact. There is a phone number and whats app link for messaging.

Also this is unfortunate bc alot of people are having issues with most of the DCT upgrade clutches: SSP, Dodson, and now Deka. Not sure about Project Gamma, still too new…

Its unfortunate because Getrag is an awesome transmission comany with lots of history in racing. Our cars are part of the turbo hybrid era of F1 (still going on currently in F1 also). Plus our engines are going to continue in production for another production life cycle. The new M5 has a version of the S63 with the hybrid motor also. So these clutch companies have got to help us put the power down…

Just mentioning this bc Im from a town a few hours from Detroit and people are sad because Dodge has made their last call for the 2023 challenger. They are going all EV, mainly because stellantis ownership. I am happy BMW is continuing the 4.4L turbo

Hopefully Deka works this out. Worst case, can use the warranty through ecs/turner, but it’s requires buying the part again. The store credit can be used on a ton of products though…

Lets hope Deka resolves this. Hope the stock clutches are working well.

I also suggest that your shop run the transmission oil balancing twice to get as much fluid as possible in the trans. I suggest pentosin FFL-4 also. So basically, after the car heats up, have them add more and run the oil balancing procedure in ISTA again. Though, I have a feeling that this issue is from the clutch disks deka made…

Please update and I can try reaching out to them also. I was considering buying these. Thanks for updating us Tin Can Sailor.

My indy shop in Largo, Fl, Midnite Tuning, had reached deka once before but I now have my car and clutches back over in the Cocoa Beach area on the other side of the state and did not want to send them from my address without Deka acknowledging that my shop did the install/uninstall but I am shipping them.

The folks you found on FB is where they want me to send the clutches back to for inspection/support. I definitely need to get the pictures done and promise to get them done before the end of the weekend as I want to ship the clutches to Deka on Monday. My wife and I have been busy trying to find a house and are in a time crunch due to my work schedule.

Appreciate ya helping me dig into this a little deeper. I was sad to hear about the fate of the Challenger and the long term commitment to ICE at Dodge/Stellantis.

I plan on keeping my s63tu and n63tu cars for many more years and hope to add newer variant in the not so distant future. I'd like to get my wife convertible 8 series but she really likes the body on the F12 6 series.

That is cool you are at Cocoa beach man. I took a trip there with my ex gf summer '22. Stayed at the Four Point Sheraton, used the Marriott Bonvoy app for a deal, also points can get a free room after some stays. It's a good driving town. The bridges and ocean views are great. I drove 95 from DC to South Beach staying at different places, have a family time share in Daytona Beach, so used that then went south. Love Florida haha...

Good luck with the home search man. Tough choice btwn the F12 and F91. Both have great looks and engines. Guess you two will have to check out each of them haha. I am likely to do the same. I'm going to hang on to mine and check out another model later. With dodge, I feel the same, they are bringing an EV challenger Daytona, its has good power. Just have to see how that does for them. Big move going to EV for the company...

I am so happy your shop got in contact. Also I could see them using that Rnc place for USA communication and checking. Let's hope that they just send you a new set, can mention your shop to Deka. Maybe then can help with install too. It's worth asking, since they have a dealer in state.

And you're welcome, I happy to help.
