M6 Engine oil issue?
Hi guys,
Just want to ask a question here. Do you guys have any engine oil issue? Yes, I am pretty satisfy with my 650GC, it is luxury fast and provide me tractions no matter winter or summer because it is Xdrive. However, I just can't get pass on the engine oil top off issue. Whenever I am driving it, I am afraid of the engine oil warning will on. Just passed 6300kms but I have already had 3 times low engine oil warnings. I know I am not driving a M car, so I rarely push it hard, even never done a full throttle, but it is just burning engine oil like drinking water. Even my dealer give me free engine oil top off always, but it just lets me feel annoying. I hate to drive it to dealer always, and tell service guy " come on man, I ran out of my engine oil." Maybe, this gonna be the best reason for myself to switch to M6 GC, if you guys don't experience the same thing.

It all depend. I have 7000 miles on mine and have only had to put one quart in and I drive pretty spirited. Some members do it more or less than others. Yours sounds like a lot.

Yes, it sounds a lot, but my dealer told me wait for a while. It is possible that gonna be burn less. However, I checked the 6post. most folks have the 650GC N63tu enigine have reported the same issue.

Hopefully, you will be ok always. The first 4000kms I am pretty happy and thought I do not have the issue, but after that everythig started in 2300kms three times.
Do I get a heavy foot suddenly? No.

I drove a 550 as a DD prior, did the same, averaged about 1 quart every 9-12K miles, with most of the time not having to top off because of oil changes. |

Will this be the reason it is burning oil? I love my car just want everything will be okay as dealer told me. However, since the launch of the 6gc, my dealer just sold 3 (include mine) till now ? Just can not believe them. |

Nothing you can do now though what's done is done . The engine will make a little less power ~2-5% , and consume oil but it's longevity will not be affected . Just add oil as needed and enjoy . Just remember next time to break it in right ! |

OP, car is still too new. After about 10,000km, you are probably looking at (average) 1 litre / 5000km as normal.
My M is burning 1 litre / 1000km druing break in ... now it varies ... 1 litre / 1000km to 1 litre / 1600km, depends on how aggressive I drive. |

Yes I think so. My friend has the c63 also told me the same thing. He drives the car really hard and it burned oil a lot during the first 10000kms. However, after that, there is no oil issue.

I have around 5k miles on mine, and have had to add a quart 3 times so far. I drove it fast and hard since I got it with no regard to break in, patience is not a virtue of mine
