2013 BMW m6 f13 17k miles Engine questions
Hey Guys,
Just purchased a mint 2013 m6 with low miles that ive been saving for. I purchased an extended warranty (3yr 36miles hendrick autoguard)but I'm still worried about possible engine failure. It's my second car and is/was maintained and serviced. It was my understanding the 4.4L were great motors. My question is, what changes to the engines were made during manufacturing years of the M6? Do I have the S63T and is that a good motor? Also, is the S63tu in the m5 or m6? Was the 13 a bad year to buy? I always thought going with low miles was the better choice. Here's the Vin if anyone can shed some light on my motor etc. Thanks everyone. Glad to be a part of the M fam. WBSLX9C50DD159760 |

I'd probably cancel the warranty. They usually don't cover shit or their labor cap is way too cheap. 2013+ cars are all Technical Update motors (TU) so they've been revised and are better than before. If it's up to date on BMW service drive it and enjoy it at this point, and set some money aside for repairs later on if needed.

Thank you for the reply. I thought it was 2014+ that had the S63tu. Good to know, I feel better now. I think I'll take you up on that!

Is the S63T different than the S63tu?

Thank you for the replies everyone, except for TomKollt you suck. I've done more research and decided to do rod bearings at 50k miles for preventing engine failure. My car only has 17k miles so it won't be for some years, but I plan on keeping the car forever.
