Infiniti green-lights Hi-Po hybrid Q60 based on 500hp "Project Black S" concept
Looks like Infiniti is investing in a halo sports car to take on the M4 / C63 / RS5 segment. Looks like an awesome contender!
https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...mage=100594221 On the other hand, Nissan doesn't have ANY plans to update the 370z which I think is an absolute shame. Maybe they are looking to make Infiniti the performance / luxury brand and keep Nissan as the mass produced consumer brand. That being said, how does the GTR fit into all of this then? Thoughts on both... |

I hope they fix the steering. I'm a lifelong Z guy and its a shame about the Z. They don't even have the Z in their lineup in commercials when they have all the models next to each other.

The new Q60 is a flop. No one is driving the RS version here in NY. Infiniti will never compete with the M/amg/rs. Their driving dynamics are terrible and they quite can't figure out what the car should be. Only thing good is the engine. I hope they drop it in the next gen 370's.
I loved my G37s coupe but when I test drove the 400RS, only thing I felt was the acceleration and nothing more. Unless they make a new gen Z, kiss any aftermarket support for the Infiniti platform goodbye. |

Exactly. At best the G35/37 was a softer Z car. They'll never build an M car competitor, even as that continues to mean less and less.

Really??? They haven't been about big horsepower. I've found the z version of these cars to be great project or track toys. As long as its priced right, I think it will be solid competition. The infiniti model should go after the M2 price point with the Nissan equivalent (see above comment) after the Camaro SS 1le price point. |

The main issue was never the weight, its the driving dynamics. The new models all have electric steering, no LSD, no dct, no 6mt, no exhaust note, crappy suspension. Even with TC off, it's hard to let the rear loose. |

I can't agree with you more. That's what put infiniti/Nissan on the map. Now they don't have any identity on what they want to become.

My last car was a 2009 370Z. After 7 years of ownership and a lot of waiting for a refresh, trying to stay brand loyal, I jumped ship and bought an M2. |

The current GTR can compete performance wise with the Germans and the Germans don’t offer any analog feedback anyway. |

I'm somewhat happy they are doing this but at the same time if they keep going down the drive by wire stuff, this car isn't going to be all that good.

Nissan has disappointed as of late. Auto only TT 3.0. No update on the Z and an aging GTR. MY 350Z I had no trouble dumping $50k in it a few years before the GTR debuted. If I purchase another Nissan, It'll be an S30 Z. Not impressed with anything in the showroom these days.
