650ix GC exhaust options

Will 550i aftermarket exhausts fit a 650i and vice versa? I currently have an Eisennman Race on my 2012 550i and may have the opportunity to go into a 650ix/650ix GC. It seems that my Eissenman Race would be an almost direct swap out. Thoughts?

Any other aftermarket exhausts avail for the 650i GC? Thanks

Any chance you have driven the 650? I've never had an exhaust like this in any of my previous BMWs (and yes, that includes my 2008 M5). The sound is AMAZING - especially if/when you let off - the rappittytapptapp popping noise is awesome!

Oh and it only gets better with more miles. Can't believe how different it is now compared to when I got the car.

My 2 cents

No so is it an OEM exhaust you are talking about? I've driven a 640i GC and coupe before but not the 650xi. My 550i was so quiet I had to upgrade after getting it which is my fear with the 650ix GC. Thoughts?

Now I did not drive my friends 550xi hard, but I could not really even hear his exhaust. My 650GC is loud (when you get on it). LOVE IT. You have to go drive one -if you can find one with 2,500 miles on it, even better.

And yes 650 - I think it might come with a factory sport exhaust as there is no optional BMW version for it whereas I think the 640 has a BMW one you can buy.

Shouldn't be an issue for a muffler shop to get it installed, it might not be direct fit but the can cut off the pipes and weld on new SS piping for the exhaust to fit. The main thing is that you have the rear section, that's all you need, I wouldn't remove the resonators from the 650. I did a muffler delete, you can hear the clip its a couple of threads down from yours.

I will have to check and see on that option. Not sure at all.

I think so also but not sure. I would be retrofitting the 550i Eissenman exhaust to a 650xi so I think it should work but hangers/fit may need some special TLC. That is the part I am not sure about. 550i and 650i exhaust usually are very similar other than I would think mounting points as the chassis is the same.

Like I said, a decent muffler shop could do all that easily. You have the rear section and they can work from there after removing the OEM rear section. You don't need piping, the pipes on the 650 are dual 3"

Looks like the M-sport models always got an optional exhaust (as part of the M-Sport package) and for 2015 that sport exhaust is now standard on all 650s.

M6 exhaust is longer than M5. I expect the same for 550 vs 650
