We have a POE camera on the outside and inside the garage as well as a z-wave motion sensor (temp, humidity, lux and UV). The garage also has a sensor hardwired to the alarm panel but is treated as a vent zone (so not to trigger an alarm). Since the sensor is wired to the alarm panel we use our home automation to track/react to opening and closing events.
