It seems like there are a handful of people reported their engine burns oil to low in less than a 1000 miles and they would have to constantly top it off.
From what I have read the most common reason for the engine to sized is because the lack of oil in it.

I had the car just 2 months since purchase, there was no low oil alerts, car was last serviced in August by bmw
