Having contacts helps to some extent. I bought my parents a ‘21 Honda Pilot Touring two weeks ago, managed to get a decent amount off plus they had $4k incentive on the pilot (which they still do).
Out the door I paid just a hair under $54k cash.
That included an extended warranty, all weather mats and cargo liner as well as the roof rack cross bars. The dealer delivered it to my parents condo on a flat bed, swapped the plates and loaded their old SUV on the flat bed - nice and easy for my parents, just had to sign over he ownership on their old vehicle, which I’m sure is already sitting at a wreckers by now
