I completely agree. The car should have turbocharged with ~250hp. Subaru has a turbo 4 and Toyota has a turbo 3 that would be perfect for these cars. Some people may say a turbo would ruin the experience, but so does going numbingly slow. Also, this car will receive a hybrid/electrified model by 2025 so that point is moot by Toyota's own objective and ever increasing emissions standards.
I know this could/would cannibalize 4 cylinder Supra sales, but not only should there not have been a 4 cylinder Supra, they shouldn't have been so similar that their demographics overlap. I don't see the need for 2 budget Caymans within Toyota's lineup and I believe is problematic in a dwindling sports car market.
