Wallet security / custody risk is a big issue for me on the crypto decision. Barry Ritholtz/Bloomberg said on a podcast that 30% of Bitcoins mined have been lost by holders or have been stolen by hackers. I have an acquaintance who had his wallet hacked and the money stolen. Supporters call it one off or “dumb user, forgot the password”.
How much of this happens with Fidelity or Vanguard investors with brokerage accounts? Answer: it doesn’t.
