I'd rather get the Tesla model 3 performance over the I8 for a few reasons, but i would probably get an M5 or M8 over both. In regards to EV's you get a lot more power out of the Tesla, the I8 sounds like a lawnmower no matter what you do to the exhaust, and the design for getting in and out of the car is a deal breaker for me. Everyone looks like an idiot getting out of the I8 if you are under 6'2" or so. It looks cool, but BMW needs to up the power and fix the enter/exit design before anything else, IMO.
