I've never been there, but to me it all comes down to you. My Ex and I were "goers" we woke up and went. We explored the country we were up and gone a lot, so all inclusive was not for us. Me and my current SO are not so much. We still explore, but we spend many lazy days at the resort and having that freedom is great to not keep your wallet or track what you are doing.
If you like to chill - all inclusive make sense. If you are all about exploring - it's hard to come out ahead with all inclusive. $100 per night is pretty fair for all inclusive to me.
