I want to buy a used Tiguan ...

I don't know exactly why. My daily now is a 300,000 mile 2003 Golf. It's served me well and it's slowly on it's way out. After fixing a few things on it I've noticed how good the build quality really is. I have only found 2 bolts to be rusted in. Mind you we bought it brand new and it's been a MN car it's whole life. Carwashes where the auto drive through type and I don't think I waxed it but for maybe 3 times. So it's really had minimal care. We did have VW do the corrosion warranty back in 2015 IIRC. There was a fair amount of stuff replaced.

I found a 2017 Tiguan Sport I like. I don't like the price, but localish options for what features I want are very limited. TBH, I've only found 5 cars within 200 miles. Looked at one today and it was a water-damaged shitpile (2013). I'm hoping that going newer with less miles nets me something with less problems and a nice long life.
The one concern I have is that in 2017 VW limited the corrosion warranty to 12 years and 120,000 miles. Previously it was 12 year and unlimited (same as BMW). But again the lack of local inventory and my stubbornness plays in here.

Anyways, what can you guys tell me about this thing that I may not have found out or researched already?
i.e. talk some sense into me. LOL

Oh and when I checked insurance on the 2013 vs the 2017, the 2017 cost $8 more/6mo. I just found that comical.
