Unless you can deal with no income for a while you need a plan or another job before you quit what you have. If you don't like your current job you should find something else. You said you tried internally with no success so alternative is externally. You can't start your own business without money and an idea/plan so if you want to go this route you need to cover both of them before you start.
I am sticking with my current job that I don't like, at least in the short term as it pays well, isn't that difficult and I am not sure what else I want to right now. I prefer working for someone else over my own business, mainly for the risk and inability to then change my mind and walk away easily.
