no rod bearings is not a common problem in the S63. The S63 has been around sine 2010.

That said, every motor built by any manufacturer is bound to have a percentage of the population exhibit early bearing wear and failure. It could be due to manufacturing defect, or something as simple as not using the correct oil or allowing the oil to warm up before revving the motor.
