Another plausible story is they kept fighting on the trip, she flipped out and broke up with him, and left. He then jumped in the van and drove home thinking he and her were done. 11 days later he finds out she’s actually missing, which is news to him.
He could’ve also had enough of her shit, so he just said fuck it, I’m out - and left her there. Then something happened to her later and the same scenario applies - he didn’t know she was missing.
Both scenarios could explain why he didn’t report her missing. Could also explain why he’s so careful about what he says - because he knows how the story looks and that he’s likely the #1 suspect.
Idfk. Weird af that he’s not talking tho. He probably killed her.
