YMMV but my PCP/GP was utterly useless at 1. diagnosing my chronic headache and migraine condition, and 2. prescribing an effective treatment. I put off seeing a neurologist for so long because I thought it would just get better and I wouldn't need to. In fact, the neuro was the best decision I made in my headache/migraine journey.
