Hi there, previously seen on the F3X Forums and most latterly bothering the G2X Forums, I picked this beauty up on Sunday from Dick Lovett, Bristol.
Was in a very well-specced F31 330d with BMW performance upgrades which I'd had from new, so felt like the only way to go was to the new M340i. COVID hit and so as having to buy now had to allow for the blip in business finances, so a move into a new £60k+ car was not viable.
A look round my local dealership and I spotted a 630i for under £30k. I couldn't believe how much car you got for that money. I took it out for a drive and yes it's a lot bigger, yes it's softer, and yes it's certainly a long way down on the power of my 330d...but it still gathered pace quickly enough and clearly it's designed for a more refined ride.
A nationwide search round the best of the available stock for similar budget, and I found this in Bristol.
19 plate, 8,000mi, 630i GT in Bluestone Metallic.
Not a lot ticked by way of options, but still very well appointed compared to my 330d:
- M SPORT+
Harmon Kardon
20in wheels
M Performance brakes (I love the idea of paying extra for breaking squeaks! )
Sun protection glass
STANDARD
Folding mirrors
Adaptive LEDs
Sunroof
Electric seats with driver's memory
Sat Nav
Digital cockpit
Reversing camera
Ambient lighting
OPTIONS
*Comfort access
*Wireless charging
*Heated steering wheel
*HUD
(The last 2 having had for the first time on my 330d and which soon became examples of those items that leaves you questioning how we ever got on before, driving cars like apes!)
All that and only ticking a handful of options, and all for just over £30k?
Had a long drive back from Bristol to Preston, a country blast yesterday and one commuter run today...absolutely love it!
As left-field choices for a dog-mobile goes, I'm pretty impressed so far!
