So I heard back from BMW and they are sticking me with a bill of approx $20k as of now... Not really giving me a reason why this all happened and that's basically it. I called N.A. and pushed back and am waiting to hear back from them again to see if the number gets any better.
Update: No additional help from BMW NA - I guess that's all she wrote.
