The irrigation company would've charged several bucks per square foot to install the drip lines vice the several cents per sq ft it cost us to buy and install the material ourselves.

The cost itself. Our mark up on supplies is 250% so I'm sure you saved money lol. So you're totally drip then? Here we have to pull all pipe underground and use overhead watering due to the size of the lawns. I know some places are doing all drip which is so much better for the environment!
