Y'all same side sitters are weird. Why the need for affection during a meal? And why the need to observe and make fun of other patrons as mentioned by several people? Unless the table is gigantic, it's just as easy to share a meal/drink if you are so inclined sitting across from someone as it is sitting next to them.
Maybe it's an age thing? Are you same side sitters on the older side?
