imo what could bring android on the next level, is ''universal installation''
Just like windows, no mater if you have a 10yo Dell laptop or a 5000$ custom built PC tower, you CAN install win10 easily.
It only depends if your machine will be able and if you want speed.
Yes you can go XDA route, root the device, unlock bootloader and sh!it, but its NOT user friendly. It need dev supports.
And yes old phone 'could' be able to run android11. Hate this 2-3year obsolescence on the OS.
Samsung Galaxy S2, got few usable android 10 port, a 2011 phone !
