Vinyl wrapping is very thin and used for color changing, not protection. Vinyl would have not helped OP in this situation. Typical partial front PPF would have protected him probably 100% here. That's the cheapest $500-800 insurance ever. Given OP's enthusiasm when he bought the car recently, it is sad to see the damage so soon. OP, not too late to get PPF to prevent future damage. Go with full front to be safe. Only a little more expensive than partial front.
