Mine was built 10/11/2013 however BMW officially started lifetime from 04/2014. So I do not know if it is 2G or 3G.

If you go to the BMW ONLINE screen (in iDrive)…if you have 3G…the little
3G symbol will be in the upper left of the screen. (See pic below for an example)
My 650ix GC has a 1/2013 build date which was built a couple of months prior to the NBT iDrive (it has the last of the CIC)….which was 2G and went through it 2D sunset back in 2015(?).
