When I bought my 2015 M6 coupe it had about 4500 miles on the clock and after I'd done about 1800 miles it wanted a litre of oil. Over the course of my ownership (about 6 months now) its had a mixture of twisty b road thrashes and 5 hour motorway trips for work every other week and since then its been about 6500 miles and not needed a top up.
Not sure if its the motorway journeys, the b road blasts or a mixture of the two that have maybe seated the rings properly and stopped the oil burning issue.
I'd also add that my E92 M3 before this burned a bit of oil when I first purchased it but after a month or so stopped so I do wonder if its something about the way I drive.
