I think it has to do with the IPhone , Apple Music is the default player so when you restart the car it reverts back to Apple Music it’s annoying, and yes I find it worse on the newer interface, I have a 2017 330 sport wagon and I find the layout better on the 15 M6 GC , more shortcut buttons and Bluetooth less annoying.I want to make Spotify as my default on my IPhone but didn’t figure it out yet that’s if I can ?
