RKP M6 Front Lip DIY

RKP continues a tradition of flawless fit, incredible surface finish, and the most carefully plotted designs in the industry with their M6 front lip.

This install can be performed without a lift, but we utilize one to give a better perspective on the install.

Tools:
  • 8mm socket
  • Small extension recommend
  • appropriate sized ratchet for the socket (1/4", 3/8', 1/2" etc)
  • Tape (painters tape or scotch tape)
  • 3M adhesion promoter (Provided by RKP)

Step 1:
Make sure your work area is secure. If you are using jack stands please exercise caution and follow proper operating procedure. Using the 8mm socket, remove the middle screws on the factory lower lip.

Step 2:
At this point in time it is a great idea to test fit the front lip. This is standard procedure for all exterior parts that arrive at our facility.

Step 3:
Now that fitment is confirm please prepare lip for install by creating pull points for the double-sided tape. For this procedure we use painters tape, but any sticky tape can be used. The idea is to create a pull for when the lip is in the final stage of install.

Step 4:
With the factory lower lip loosened ensure there is a clean mounting surface. Now wipe the mounting surface with the provided 3M adhesion promoter

Step 5:
Install the front lip between the urethane lip (bottom) and the underside of the front bumper. Use the mounting holes as a guide for position.

Step 6:
Tighten the bolts half way into the front lip to ensure the lip is secured in place.

Step 7:
Using the tape pulls remove the double-sided tape from the lip and push the lip against the bumper with even pressure.

Step 8:
Fully tighten the bolts on the underside of the urethane front lip.
