it is beneficial to overall longevity. my liqui moly molygen 5w-40 thins out to a 30 weight oil after having it sent to blackstone for a test.
The catch cans dont really do much on these cars, i have never seen any of them catch a drop of oil.

Thanks for the link. Will you be switching to redline 5w50 since the 5w-40 molygen things out as a 30 weight?
