Im leaning towards the GMC for fuel economy and looks. I know GM engines tend to be pretty reliable and i have a buddy who worked at a dealership and drove all of them a ton. He said the chevy/gmc interior features were his favorite but theyre all great trucks anymore.

You are in prime raptor territory to get a 13/14 at 25k, or a very low mileage 11/12. While there were some model year updates, the biggest is HID's in 13/14.
At 18-20k I was picking from the bottom of the barrel. Many of these trucks have just been enjoyed as trucks. Buying from a private party you will be able to ask the owner about their history with the truck.
