I'll take pictures under better lighting so you can see the difference more, from the same angle as my first two OEM chrome shots.
I also think I prefer the double slat look.

hmmm not sure if I have the same ones you just installed, but definitely not the ones you replaced. On the ones from the first two pictures you can clearly see the slats are silver on the sides, mine are darker than that... unfortunately my car is on the boat at the moment but in the meantime I found this other picture that has a better profile view of the slats:
