Check out the Michellin PILOT ALPIN PA4 N-SPEC at tirerack. Read the reviews and testing have done in there.
It's the best winter tires I have driven on and I have used over 5 different sets of winter tires already.
They have 255/40/20 and 295/30/20. However, driving in the winter with that thin side walls and wide rear tires aren't very ideal. I was in a similar situation and I made a decision to buy the OEM 19" wheels and put on the 265/40/19 on all four corners. I live in MN and so far it's exceeding my expectations of handling in snow and dry conditions.
