I'm fairly certain you have the ZF Transmission in the 650x - ZF 8HP70Z. A GETRAG trans was only offered in the manual 650 - One with a clutch pedal.
The fluid in the ZF 8HP70Z is a synthetic blend. The fluid change was very straight forward for me, I would think the least the Dealer could do would be to change the fluid....
I'm no expert on the GM Transmission in the 2016 Vette. A quick google search presents a very long list of cars/trucks that use the same GM Hydramatic gear box and the class action lawsuit surrounding it that explains the symptoms presented, there doesn’t seem to be any correlation with the 6 series Trans of any kind.
I've done a fair amount of DIY work on Auto transmissions over the years. I'd be VERY hesitant to change the manufacturer required fluid to another for any reason unless the original manufacturer recommended it.
