I went with M6 mufflers on my 650 m sport, and I felt like it was the perfect increase in sound. I also use the zip tie method. With either the windows or moonroof cracked you definitely hear the exhaust. There are some nice pops and gurgles on upshifts and deceleration. Like others have said, there is a slight drone in comfort mode, but sport mode fixes that.
As far as the install, there may be some issues with the hangers in which I'm not sure if it makes a difference if say going from M6 coupe or M5 mufflers to a gran coupe. However, any decent muffler shop can handle it.
