I have B&O in my GC. I can't compare it with base or HK but as a musician (pianist) and audiophile I say it's good enough for a car, especially with high volume the sound doesn't distort and is crisp and clear.
Obviously it's not a crappy audio system, you can clearly listen the difference between a 320kbps .mp3 and a 24 bit/192Khz .flac
A down note is that with flat equalizer bass tend to be a little bit aggressive, this is why I usually stay 1 to 2 notches under the default setting.
Note: my used car comes with B&O, but it wasn't a prerogative before buying.
