Warranties don't really matter. I have a transmission problem, torque converter to be specific. The probably that many of us have experienced around 1500-2000 RPMs where the car vibrates. Long story short BMW rep drove car with me and said "it is the torque converter, but it is within tolerance". Not exactly a blown engine but I am still under Manufacturer Warranty and they won't replace it. Get a lawyer? I don't have a few years for that.
