Hmm... brand new owner of a '17 650xi GC here, and until someone brought this thread to my attention, I wouldn't have even paid attention.
While I've only done a few hundred miles in the GC so far, I've certainly put it through paces on both the highway, backroads, hills (here in CT for sure), etc. I've not experienced anything like this. In fact, the GC feels much smoother than my 550xi.
I'll keep a look out for anything unusual, but so far I'm incredibly pleased - one of the best driving/riding BMWs I've owned.
