The warranty on my car runs out early next year and, given the horror stories on here concerning engine failure, I thought I'd take a quick look to see how much aftermarket cover would be. Normally I wouldn't bother on a low mileage, regularly serviced car.
Warranty Direct UK gave a me a quote of £25pm to cover engine, drive train and ECUs. To mitigate against a potential £30-35k engine replacement I thought that quite reasonable. The quote included an uncapped labour rate so that BMW main dealers would not be excluded.
I would be interested to know what other UK owners have done, or plan to do, about extended warranty and the costs involved. I've yet to ask BMW but from previous experience I know it will be expensive.
