Info from the TIS says that the
"soft close drives are not connected directly to a control unit"...which means if they were to be disconnected...there wouldn't be any warning message sent etc.. And you can see in the illustration (below) taken from the link provided...that the soft close drive is separate from the door lock.
There's also a diagram that shows the drive and its electrical connector locations. If you decide to pull the power and it works...please post back your results (in this thread) to give back and others that may want (or need) to do the same thing.
