Any pointers? Could a fuse be suspect?

I would recommend reaching out to Steve @ CodeMyBimmer (info@codemybimmer.ca)

When I had swapped out my climate control units for ones with the ceramic knobs, the rear unit did not properly communicate with the car - exactly how you're describing where the lights all function but when you press buttons or adjust the knobs, no signal seems to be sent to the control module to actually adjust the airflow or temperature.

All I had to do was plug in a laptop to to the OBDII port via an E-Sys cable and install TeamViewer so Steve could remote in and re-code the unit. Ever since, everything has worked perfectly.
Thanks, does seem like a good advice!
